Tuesday Morning Torah Study (Online)

  • Tuesday, October 11, 2022
  • 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM
  • Fee: TBD
  • Program Leader: Alisa Ente

The Torah is the story of the Jewish people, a tool of spiritual navigation and a multi-sensory invitation to walk with God. Through close reading of the text and following arcing themes, this group dives deeply- at times, staying in one passage and at others, moving through passages to layer a meaning as it is developed through sacred texts and liturgy. Having studied under Rabbi Alan Ullman, Alisa’s teaching style engages participants in relating themes of Torah to real life and using the light of Torah as a guide. She aims to help students to create new relationships to and understanding of Torah through creative speech, with the goal of seeing their lives as sacred stories. Alisa also brings short stories from midrash, Hasidic parables and folktales to enrich the learning and foster a connection to the eternal in the present tense.

This Tuesday morning Torah study group meets weekly in the Zoom Midrash, resuming September 6. If you are interested, or would like to learn more, please connect with Alisa at alisaente@gmail.com.

Dates: Tuesdays, September 6, 13 & 20, October 11, 18 & 25, November 1, 8, 15 & 29, December 6 & 13
