The past several months have been times of much thought. Thoughts first of family and safety. With a mother living in a Florida assisted living facility, I have thought often of her safety and care – which has been outstanding. I have thought of my in laws and their fragility. I have certainly spent a lot of time thinking of my daughters, both living out of state. I have also been quite proud of how they have conducted themselves. There have also been lots of thoughts about business and employees and their families. Trying to make good business decisions that have also impacted the lives of many.
I have felt the greatest challenge in having little control over this situation, but yet having control to make smart decisions to protect my health and those around me, but still finding a way to live – a bit of a normal life.
Joy has come from the love and caring that I share with my wife. These are challenging times but it is the support and care from the ones that we love the most that help us cope and persevere. An additional joyous bonus has been the support and friendship that has come from a group of men that I traveled to Israel with. A weekly check-in call and chance to talk over zoom has been an amazing bonding experience and means of maintaining some socialization with some great people!
