TBE’s Community Voice

A jumble of emotions and thoughts zigzag daily.  Mostly, I experience deep gratitude for the safety and security of of my family and friends.  Alternately, I feel deep pain for those troubled by losses –  deaths, illnesses, jobs, homes, significant sharing of milestones -weddings, graduations, Bar / Bat mitzvahs, births, birthdays, and deaths that should be.   The calls for greater justice with Black Lives Matters gives me tremendous hope with the greater awakening of the legacy of racism and of  current practices.  The heightened awareness of those who are “essential” workers recognizes the impact we have on each other and the dignity of all kinds of work.  Although I yearn for more direct personal connections, more laughter, deeper discussions than can occur on zoom, I return to appreciation that we have this technology that substitutes in some measure for the dislocations.
