After so much emphasis in our lives to expand, extend and elevate our personal “Me power,” this year and this holiday are the time to examine “We power”- what happens when we see ourselves as permanently linked to others and to the natural world.
So I am taking inspiration from Ruth Bader Ginzburg and her life. She said the colleagueship and community of the Supreme Court is central to the courts role in American life. Respect and kindness are imperative right now. Nobody is “the other” or “those people”
It is a good thing that the New Year comes right before the national election. We really need the lessons of the High Holidays.
