It is so challenging for all of us to celebrate happy occasions during the pandemic, as we worry about the health of our loved ones and our personal responsibility to our community and beyond. Yet in some ways, paring a life-cycle celebration down to the essentials has made those occasions even more powerful and urgent – a reminder that life and love find a way to survive and that days pass even in the darkest times. And that all the daily nonsense that distracts us during “normal times” really doesn’t matter in the end – that we must celebrate joy and life at every opportunity!
