During this pandemic, I make it a point to call my friends more often. I have been grocery shopping for my next-door neighbors since March, every week, and it has brought me closer to them. I feel a sense of responsibility for them; as long as the pandemic continues, I will continue to do their shopping.
I feel closer to humanity, every single person, everywhere. Closer than ever before, but that makes me care even more than I did before, if that’s possible, making it harder to bear the pain of what’s going on in the world.
