Healthcare in America with TBE Men’s Club (Online)

Drs. Shelly Buckler and David Maltz present a history of our healthcare system, including both positive and negative features. They will provide comparisons with other national systems and make suggestions for the future.

Dr. Buckler grew up in The Bronx and East Tennessee. He received a PhD in Chemistry from Columbia, had a career in innovation including pharmaceuticals, batteries and imaging and served for many years as Chairman of the Board at a Harvard teaching hospital.

Dr. David Maltz was trained as a pediatrician and pediatric cardiologist. He served two years with the Air Force domestically in that role. He was in private practice of pediatrics for 14 years. He then became the medical director of BlueCross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. Following that, he did healthcare consulting in various roles and international venues focusing on health system reform. He is still engaged in that work.
