About Rebecca
Hello TBE folks, my name is Rebecca Salomon, but I prefer Becca. I am currently a level seven gymnast, and I am so excited to excel in my career. It is a big time commitment, but I love it. I have a 15-year-old brother, two guinea pigs, Fudge, and ginger that I’ve had since second grade. I also have a 10 year old dog name Roxy who we adopted when I was four. I like to do self-care and be clean. I go to school at Wilson Middle School, a Natick. Being a Bat, Mitzvah means being able to make more responsible and mature choices, and having a bigger voice. My service project is promoting diversity, and I will address the School Committee, supporting inclusivity and an education preparing us for the world

Hello everybody! I am Ari Bern and I’m becoming a Bar Mitzvah on December 2nd.
Most days I can either be found playing town soccer in Westwood or with my club team, Seacoast United. I am the “center back”, which means I’m the last defender to stop the other team from scoring. Working with my teammates has brought us closer as friends and we have a lot of fun together.
I am the youngest of two children. My brother Zack is two and a half  years older, and my parents, Jaimie and Rick, just happen to be the coolest parents ever. We have two amazing dogs, Tippee and Saiydee. We adopted Tippee in March of this year. He is a two year old “Whoodle” (Wheaten Terrier Poodle mix) who earned his name because he literally runs on his tippie toes. Saidee is our 9 year old Australian Labradoodle who mostly loves to lick faces and eat anything she can get her paws on. I like to think of myself as the comedian of the family, but unfortunately I think my Dad has secured that title.
I attend Thurston Middle School in Westwood where I am in 7th grade. My favorite subject is math, but I actually enjoy all my classes. The reason I like math is because I can apply it to other things such as Rubik’s cubes. I now understand algorithms which are essential to solving the puzzle.
Preparing for my Bar Mitzvah has been a lot of work. For my service project I have helped both people and the environment. I picked up trash from lakes and beaches, sorted and folded clothing for kids in need, delivered meals to families in need, and spent time with older adults who have memory challenges.
Through these experiences I’ve become more aware that helping others is better than simply thinking about myself. My bar mitzvah preparation has given me a feeling of responsibility and I feel a little more like an adult as a result.
