About Alexis

Hello, TBE community! I’m Lexi Prowda, a 7th grader at Wellesley Middle School. One of my favorite things in the world is field hockey because of the many different skills and tricks you can do, the community, and the competition. My teammates and I always support each other and cheer each other on whether it’s on or off the field. I have made so many amazing friendships and have had so many awesome coaches that never fail to inspire me and encourage me to try my best.
I have a sister named Madison who is 18 and starting college in California this fall! We also have a four year old goldendoodle named Thor. I’m the youngest and definitely the most carefree in my family (except for Thor).
My favorite class in school changes every year, mostly based on the teachers. In 6th grade, my favorite class was math because I had a terrific teacher who made me want to work hard, but it also helps that I enjoy math.
Becoming a bat mitzvah is a lot of work, much more than anticipated. I’ve spent years studying Hebrew and with the help from the TBE team of teachers and tutors, now I can read and write in another language! My bat mitzvah experience is special to me because not only does it give me responsibility, but it allows me to reflect on everything I’ve learned and makes me feel proud.
For my bat mitzvah project, I want to provide books to kids who may not have access to them. I have partnered with an organization, Storytime Crafts, that accepts donations of new and slightly used books, games, and toys, and works to distribute them to schools and libraries in the Boston area. Their mission is to promote literacy and kindness.
