Join us to discuss the important issues that confront our Jewish community today and the leadership qualities necessary to meet them. We’ll hear from Rabbis Steven E Kaye and Jan Katzew, followed by a group discussion facilitated by Rabbi Joel Sisenwine.
Please consider joining us for the evening, beginning with Shabbat services and the installation of Rabbis Jordy Callman and Ben Rosen, followed by a community Shabbat dinner prior to our learning program.

Rabbi Steven E Kaye, MSW, BCC
Based in Denver, CO, Rabbi Kaye is the founder of Or Chadash, a unique Jewish coaching and congregational consulting practice that supports rabbis, cantors, educators, and executive directors in their sacred work. Steve works closely with congregational leadership as they seek to become a congregation of excellence in today’s changing congregational landscape. As a rabbi, social worker, and coach, Rabbi Kaye integrates his training in supporting his clients diverse needs. Over the past 25years, Rabbi Kaye has been a front-line provider of disaster spiritual/emotional care, in partnership with first responders in active shooter, mass causality and aviation/transportation incidents. Steve serves as the American Red Cross CO/WY Disaster Spiritual Care (DSC) Regional Advisor, Senior Chaplain for the Denver Police Department, and the United States Secret Service.
Rabbi Jan Katzew, PhD
Rabbi Katzew, PhD is Associate Professor Emeritus of Jewish Thought and Education and Senior Educator of the EMA Program at HUC-JIR, where he had been ordained in 1983. After serving for six years as rabbi/educator at The Community Synagogue in Port Washington, NY, Jan became a Jerusalem Fellow and earned a doctorate at the Hebrew University in Jewish Thought and Education. For fifteen years Jan led a team of educators at the Union for Reform Judaism that was responsible for designing, developing, and implementing curricular resources for early childhood centers, congregational schools, day schools and adult learning communities throughout the world. Since its inception in 2008, Jan has been a senior consultant to the iCenter for Israel Education, mentoring students from multiple graduate schools and seminaries to become Israel educators, a task made even more important after October 7, 2023. Jan is the author of popular and scholarly articles in multiple fields that include Interfaith dialogue, Mussar, Medieval Hebrew Poetry, Israel Education, Moral Development, and educational philosophy and practice. Jan’s spouse is Cantor Alane Katzew, and together they are the parents of two children and three grandchildren, who enrich their lives beyond measure.
