Uniting for Ukraine Open Meeting (Online)

Together we will create a strategy to welcome so many in need of a safe haven escaping from the war in Ukraine. We envision drawing from our community’s expansive compassion, resources and energies to build an incredible collective of chavurahs, small teams, to offer housing, financial contributions and 1:1 volunteer support. All are welcome.

At our meeting, you will hear from TBE member Ed Shapiro about this new US government private sponsorship program. Ed has been a stalwart advocate and strategist for refugee resettlement working with governments, as well as private and public agencies, in the US, Canada, the UK and throughout Europe. Together with our community partners and with your help, we will create a strategy to welcome so many in need of a safe haven escaping from the war in Ukraine.

Members of the Immigration Justice Initiative are passionate about immigration and seek to affect change both locally and nationally around this issue. Called by our tradition, which commands us to help the stranger, we refuse to stand idly by as we hear and see the plight of the stranger in our midst.
