Our story for the past several months has centered on hospitals, surgeries and recovery. The greatest joy was the safe delivery of a healthy grandson whose weight was within the limitation for lifting set by the cardiologist (after proper quarantining). The challenges have been the two open heart surgeries and the subsequent setbacks requiring more hospital stays. Again, the joys have included the support and caring of family, friends, community and caregivers. Socially distanced picnics on the lawn and backyard birthday parties were highlights along the way. The loving concern of all has been most heartwarming.
