During this time Sheila and I thought about how we could help our larger community while socially distancing given our age and Sheila’s medical history. One way was by writing hundreds of postcards to residents of several Southern states reminding them that their vote is their voice. This initiative through TBE has the potential to increase participation in the important upcoming election but it also let Sheila and me feel like we could take some small actions to benefit the wider community, by contacting people we never met by mail with a personal message asking them to look forward and take action despite our difficult times. A thank you to our wonderful Social Action leadership for arranging this initiative.
